Community Standards
The shared values that keep the New Mexico Artisan Collective welcoming and trustworthy.

Our Community Values
The New Mexico Artisan Collective is a community built on trust, craft, and collaboration. These standards describe how we work together to keep the network welcoming, honest, and valuable for artisans and customers alike.
We believe in supporting local makers, celebrating authentic handmade work, and helping creative businesses across New Mexico thrive.
Supporting Local Artisans
Our network exists to lift up New Mexico makers. We prioritize businesses that are rooted in our communities and contribute to a vibrant local creative economy.
Respectful Communication
We treat one another with kindness and professionalism — in listings, messages, events, and every interaction on the platform. Harassment, discrimination, and abusive language are not welcome.
Honest Business Practices
Members commit to fair pricing, transparent policies, and truthful representation of their products and services. Trust is the foundation of our community.
Authentic Handmade Work
We celebrate work made by hand. Listings should represent items you create yourself or that are genuinely handmade by the artisans in your business. Mass-produced or resold goods should not be presented as handmade craft.
Accurate Business Information
Keep your business name, location, contact details, and descriptions accurate and current. Misleading information undermines trust for everyone.
Appropriate Images
Images should represent your real work and your real business. Use photos you have the rights to, and avoid content that is misleading, off-brand, or inappropriate for a community platform.
Event Quality Expectations
Events shared on our calendar should be genuine, well-organized, and relevant to the artisan community. We welcome markets, festivals, workshops, exhibitions, and gatherings that support makers and creative businesses.
Prohibited Content
- Discriminatory, hateful, or harassing content
- Misrepresentation of products or credentials
- Stolen, infringing, or unauthorized images and content
- Illegal goods or services
- Spam, scams, or deceptive practices
Reporting Concerns
If you encounter a listing, event, or member that may violate these standards, please let us know through our Contact page. Reports help us keep the community safe and trustworthy.
Review Process
Our team reviews submissions, listings, and reports thoughtfully. We aim to be fair and consistent, and we may reach out for clarification when needed.
Removal of Listings
Listings or events that no longer meet these standards may be removed. Where appropriate, we will work with members to resolve issues before removal. Repeated or serious violations may result in loss of membership.
